PDSU, PYL activists try to storm Minister's camp office
The activists of the Progressive Democratic Students' Union (PDSU) and Progressive Youth League (PYL) made an abortive bid to gain entry into the camp office of the Minister for Horticulture R. Venkat Reddy here on Saturday demanding the resignation of the latter in support of separate Telangana movement. The Minister was not present at the camp office during the stir. Tension prevailed in front of the camp office of the Minister when the protesters tried to barge into the premises of the office building. The police thwarted their attempt and dispersed them with great difficulty. The police detained some of the protesters and whisked them away in vehicles to the two town police station.
Earlier, the women protesters staged a protest demonstration with ‘Bathukammas' in front of the camp office. The PYL State general secretary Pullaiah, PDSU district president Sharath, secretary K. Pradeep and others participated in the agitation.
