Announcement by Punjab Student Union: Comrade Jarnail Jelly passed away

Mon, 20/12/2010 - 15:07 — Mo Punjab Student Union (PSU) in India requested for the following statement to be published on the ISM website:

JARNAIL JELLY was one of the Great Leaders at PSU (Punjab Student Union) and PSU had a lot of experience from him. He did not only organize the students but was also closely connected to the intellectuals. He was a member of the Internet Operating Commitee and the magazin "Students Struggle" publishing board.
In this present time of the movement against imperialism rising fast in South Asia, Jarnail was among those leaders who worked to create a common platform for student organizations who are struggling against imperialism as well.
With the untimely death of Jarnail Jelly his family must bear a great loss, but also the revolution and communal movement has to endore a great loss.
As Jarnail was fighting for the last 10 years, he became the first martyr since the rise of the Anti-Imperialist South-Asian Movement and he will prove to be a nail in the coffin of imperialism.
